Product Description

In 2003, Ford designed a special tank for the 03 and 04 Mustang Cobras. It looked like a regular tank on the outside, but had one of the best internal baffling systems we've ever seen in an OE tank. In late 2011, Ford stopped making these tanks. Aeromotive saw a chance to reproduce them. We not only offer reproduction 03 - 04 Cobra tanks, but also modify the tooling to fit all Fox Body Mustangs. And we took it a step further. We built A1000 and Eliminator Fuel Pumps that directly bolt onto the top of these tanks. Then we created a complete system with a single part number, giving you everything needed to install a full Aeromotive Fuel System in your Fox Body. These Fox Body Stealth tanks offer top - notch performance in a stock - looking tank, with our reliable A1000 or Eliminator fuel pumps built in. You can choose either pump and bolt in a fuel tank that looks stock but has an innovative baffling system, a built - in fuel pump for almost any hp demand, and a pre - pump filter. These tanks and systems are a direct fit for 1986 - 1998 ½ Ford Mustangs. Although the Fox Body was made from 1979 to 2004, some modifications are needed for a direct bolt - in. Check the year - specific notes below. Click here to watch the installation video! Part Number 17130 – 86 - 98 ½ A1000 5.0L Mustang Stealth Fuel Tank: It comes with a built - in A1000 Fuel Pump, a 100 - Micron Stainless Steel Pre Filter, (1) ORB - 08 Outlet Port and (1) ORB - 08 Return Port. It bolts right into the factory location using factory tank straps. It includes Part Number 13109 - EFI Bypass Regulator, Part Number 12301 - 10 - Micron Post Pump Filter, Part Number 12305 - 2' Billet Filter Bracket, Part Number 14101 - 86 - 95 5.0L GT & Cobra Fuel Rail Kit, a Complete Fuel Pump Wiring Kit, all necessary port fittings, and enough AN - 08 Fuel Line and Hose - Ends for a full installation. Recommended Parts: If you're considering an engine swap or have a 96 - 98.5 4.6L, these Complete Fuel Systems are still the best choice. Just pick an extra fuel rail kit from our wide range and add it to your order. For example, Part Number 14103 - 96 - 04 4.6L SOHC GT Fuel Rail Kit or Part Number 14104 - 96 - 98.5 4.6L DOHC Cobra Fuel Rail Kit. Visit our Fuel Rail section for more. Year specifications: For 1979 - 1985 Mustangs, you need to use an 1986 or later leveling unit and an aftermarket fuel level gauge (73 - 10 Ohm). 1998.5 - 2004 Mustang Stealth Tanks are coming soon. If you have a factory 2003 or 2004 Cobra or Cobra Fuel Tank, it's a direct fit. The following Aeromotive Fuel Pump part numbers are only for these tanks: Part Number 18679 – 03 - 04 Cobra A1000 Stealth Fuel Pump and Part Number 18680 – 03 - 04 Cobra Eliminator Stealth Fuel Pump (Requires the use of 03 - 04 Cobra fuel level sending unit as well). View Installation Instructions.

Using this Aeromotive fuel system is a breeze. First, make sure you've got all the parts in the kit. Check the year - specific notes to see if any modifications are needed for your Mustang. For 1979 - 1985 models, remember to use an 1986 or later leveling unit and an aftermarket fuel level gauge. The tank bolts right into the factory location using the factory tank straps. Connect all the fuel lines and fittings carefully, following the included wiring kit for the fuel pump. If you're doing an engine swap or have a 96 - 98.5 4.6L, you can add an extra fuel rail kit from the recommended options. When it comes to maintenance, regularly check the pre - pump and post - pump filters. Replace them when they get dirty or clogged. Also, keep an eye on the fuel level sending unit, especially if you're using a 03 - 04 Cobra tank. If you notice any fuel leaks or strange noises from the pump, stop using the system and check for problems right away. And don't forget to watch the installation video for a step - by - step guide.
