Product Description

Application: All K-series engines (excluding K24Z-Series). This product is designed solely for drag racing. It's a great upgrade for racers looking to enhance engine performance. Back in 2006, we first designed our K-Series Water Plate Kit with a D/B Series alternator. Now, we've given it a fresh look and added the option to run a K-series alternator. The V2 kit can be installed on your original K-Tuned Water Plate, except for some original designs, if you want to switch to a K-series alternator. Racers have long used electric water pumps to reduce parasitic drag and boost power. Our K-Tuned Water Pump Block Off Plate system is made to set up a K-series engine for an electric water pump cooling system. It replaces heavy OEM accessories with a lightweight aluminum plate. The original alt bracket was for the older, lighter B or D series alternator, but we've designed a new one for the OEM K-Series alternator. This updated kit has a fully adjustable tensioner with an integrated pulley that mounts neatly on the left side of the original Water Plate. The lower alt bracket bolts easily to existing holes on most K20 and K24A engine blocks, making installation a breeze with no extra parts or wiring. We've upgraded the mounting hardware, including a larger ARP upper alternator mounting bolt and 2 sets of larger bolts for the lower bracket, depending on your K series alternator style. There are 2 mounting positions for a proper fit with most stock crank pulleys. We've also made a lightweight CNC machined 6061 billet aluminum alternator pulley to replace the heavy OEM one. A custom length 7-rib belt is included, fitting most OEM crank pulleys, along with all installation hardware. As a bonus, our custom billet water pump bracket holds our K-Tuned electric water pump beside the plate setup, bolting perfectly to existing holes on most K20 and K24A engine blocks. Now, the K-Tuned Water Plate Kit is more complete than ever. Complete Water Plate Kit Includes: Water pump block-off plate, Alternator Mount kit and Tensioner, Alternator Belt, Alternator Pulley, K-Tuned Electric Water Pump, K-Tuned Water Pump Bracket (506 Kit), 12AN 90 degree fitting x2 (505 Kit), 8AN breather port plug, 12AN 1.25 hose end fitting, 12AN - 12 ORB fitting, 2 feet of -12AN braided coolant line, Pre assembled coolant line from pump to plate (506 Kit). Frequently Asked Questions: Q1 - Is the water plate kit a good fit for my setup? A - The water plate kit is for race use only. It's not recommended for street cars or stock/mild builds as it can over - cool cars not under WOT most of the time as it has no thermostat or regulated flow. Q2 - Can I run AC, Power Steering, Supercharger, or any other belt driven accessories? A - Usually, no. The water plate kit will run at most only an alternator depending on the kit. There's no provision for other accessories, but some users have adapted it on their own.








Using the K-Tuned Complete K-Series Alternator Water Plate Kit is a straightforward process. First, make sure your engine is a K-series (not a K24Z-Series) and that you're using it for drag racing. When installing, drill out the mounting bolt passages in the alternator for the upgraded hardware as per the instructions. You can use the crank pulley from a K20 Type R or a medium-sized K20A2. If you're using a larger crank pulley, you might need a longer belt. The 505 kit requires you to mount the electric water pump and set up the coolant line from the pump to the plate. You can use the supplied -12AN 90 degree fittings for this custom line. The kit comes with all the necessary parts like the water pump block-off plate, alternator mount kit, belt, pulley, and more. The updated kit's adjustable tensioner and lower alt bracket make installation easy. Just bolt them to the existing holes on most K20 and K24A engine blocks. Remember, this kit is for race use only. It's not suitable for street cars or stock/mild builds because it can over-cool the engine as it has no thermostat or regulated flow. Also, it can't run most belt-driven accessories like AC or power steering, though some users have managed to adapt it. For maintenance, regularly check the mounting bolts to make sure they're tight. Inspect the belt for wear and replace it if needed. Keep an eye on the coolant lines to ensure there are no leaks.
