Overview
Important Notes:
When ordering, you can select the color of your air filter oil you like. This specially - designed, lightweight filter lubricant is vehicle sensor - friendly. It creates a positive magnetic charge or ionic bond with the filter’s stainless steel mesh. This positive charge attracts negatively charged dust particles as small as 5 microns, making them stick to the stainless steel mesh. As a result, the cotton part of the filter stays clear, ensuring maximum airflow.
Maintenance:
PRL Motorsports suggests visually checking the air filter for screen visibility every time you change the oil. You should clean the air filter element either when the screen is no longer visible or every 30,000 miles, whichever comes first. If you use the vehicle in dusty or off - road conditions, you'll need to clean the filter more often.
Filter Recharging:
- Pre - Cleaning: Tap the filter or use air to blow it and get rid of excess dirt.
- Apply Cleaner: Spray the cleaner from the kit onto the filter and let the solution soak in for about 15 minutes.
- Rinse: Rinse the filter with warm water, starting from the clean side towards the dirty side to wash out the dirt.
- Drying: Let the filter dry naturally. Avoid using heat to prevent the cotton from shrinking.
- Apply Oil: Re - oil the filter using the provided filter oil. Use 1 spray for every 2 square inches of the filter. Make sure not to over - oil it.
