This short ram air intake system fits all 2016 - 2021 Civic Non - Si 1.5T models, including most variant models like 6MT, CVT, RHD, and international models. It comes with both street and race install guides.
For important notes, no ECU calibration is needed for the street MAF housing. However, race MAF - specific ECU calibration is required for the race MAF housing. Race MAF basemap calibrations are available in both Hondata and KTuner. Two Step Performance 'TSP' and Phearable calibrations are compatible by selecting the 'Race MAF' option.
In terms of technical details, if we had to recommend an intake system for the 1.5L Turbo Civic Platform, it would be our Cobra Cold Air Intake System. But for customers who don't want a CAI, this Short Ram Intake System is a great alternative. Our CNC machined billet aluminum MAF Housing is designed to provide factory - spec fuel trims (-4% of factory STFT & LTFT) for the best drivability and performance. It uses a 4' air filter and offers two MAF housing choices: street and race. Both use the factory MAF sensor but have different diameters and profiles. The street housing provides factory - spec fuel trims without any tuning, while the race housing allows 50% more air volume, thus requiring a tune. This larger airflow reduces pumping loss and creates an unrestricted air path with ambient temperature air.
Customers can switch between MAF housings with our MAF Housing Conversion Kit and convert to a Cold Air Intake with our Cold Air Intake Conversion Kit.
Performance gains are significant. With the street MAF housing and no tune, you get 15 horsepower and 12 ft/lb torque gains compared to stock. With the race MAF housing and race MAF basemap calibration on Hondata and/or KTuner, you see 20 horsepower and 15 ft/lb torque gains. Custom tuning can bring even larger gains at higher power levels. Note that short ram intakes are sensitive to heat - soak with this chassis, so performance may decrease as the engine and intake heat up.
There are also graphs showing long - term and short - term fuel trims for the stock intake, our cold air intake (Street MAF) with factory ECU mapping, and with a +6psi Hondata off - the - shelf map, demonstrating consistent and similar LTFT and STFT curves.

Using this short ram air intake system is straightforward. First, choose between the street or race MAF housing based on your needs. If you go for the street housing, you don't need to calibrate the ECU. But if you pick the race housing, you'll have to do a race MAF - specific ECU calibration, which you can do with Hondata or KTuner.
When installing, follow the provided street or race install guide carefully. Make sure all connections are secure.
As for maintenance, regularly check the 4' air filter. If it gets dirty, clean or replace it according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Be aware that this short ram intake is sensitive to heat - soak. In hot conditions or after long - term driving, the performance gains may reduce. If you want to avoid this, consider using our Cold Air Intake Conversion Kit.
You can easily switch between the street and race MAF housings using our MAF Housing Conversion Kit when you need a different setup.
