Product Description

The ZX2 - HDSS clutch kit from ACT combines the most popular heavy - duty pressure plate and street disc. ACT's heavy - duty pressure plates use an exclusive diaphragm design. This design boosts the clamp load, cuts down deflection, and maximizes the clutch's lifespan. Each diaphragm goes through a four - stage heat - treating process for top - notch performance. The pressure plates have precisely stamped covers for rigidity and consistency. ACT's Performance Street discs are made of premium organic materials with a high copper content, which helps in better heat transfer. They also have a steel - backed lining for greater burst strength and durability. These discs have reduced marcel, enabling faster shift actions to match the ACT pressure plates, ensuring increased strength and reliability. This kit fits various 1983 - 1991 Mazda RX - 7 models including Base, Base 2+2, Convertible, GS, GSL, GSL - SE, GTU, GTUs, GXL, GXL 2+2, Limited Edition, LX, LX 2+2, S, SE, SE 2+2, and Sport versions.

Using this clutch kit is straightforward. First, make sure your vehicle is turned off and safely supported. Remove the old clutch components and then carefully install the new ZX2 - HDSS kit in their place following the standard installation procedures. When driving with the new clutch, give it some time to break in. Avoid sudden and aggressive starts during the first few hundred miles. For maintenance, regularly check the clutch fluid level if your vehicle has a hydraulic clutch system. Keep an eye on the clutch operation. If you notice any slipping, strange noises, or difficulty in shifting, it's a good idea to have it inspected. Also, make sure to keep the clutch area clean from dirt and debris to ensure smooth performance over time.
