Product Description
Lubrication is crucial for turbochargers spinning at super high speeds. Using engine oil for turbocharger bearing systems has been the norm, but it comes with limitations and hassles. Oil-lubricated systems have limited mounting options as oil must flow back to the engine by gravity, unless you use costly and complex scavenging systems. They're also prone to contamination from engine wear, leaks, and smoking. These issues inspired Comp Turbo to create the world's first production oil-less turbocharger! Our patented CTR Oil-Less Turbochargers use a Triplex Ceramic triple ball bearing system lubricated by a special high-quality non-channeling grease. The Air-Cooled model has an internal air passage behind the compressor wheel for cooling, instead of a water jacket. Without the need for oil or water lines and with a Zerk fitting for easy servicing, the CTR Air-Cooled Triplex Ceramic Turbochargers are perfect for low, mid, or remote mount setups. Comp Turbo ball bearing turbochargers feature a patented triple ball bearing design with 99% mechanical efficiency! This means faster transient response than the industry-standard dual ball bearing system due to less friction loss. It significantly improves response times and maximizes power output! Our patented Triplex Ceramic bearing system is housed in a billet aluminum housing, making our turbochargers 5 to 12 pounds lighter on average! Our entire line of turbochargers is proudly made in the USA and features our latest R-Line technology! The CTR 7/14 veined billet slim hub extended tip compressor wheel and CTR slim hub lightweight turbine wheel are our most advanced rotor technology yet. Features: • Titanium Bullet Nose • Fully Rebuildable/Upgradeable • Anti-Surge Compressor Housing • CTR Compressor and Turbine Wheel • No Need for Oil and Water Lines • Can Be Mounted in Any Orientation CTR Compressor Wheel Technology: The CTR-line turbochargers have a 7 - 14 vaned compressor wheel with the latest compressor design technology. It has a small-diameter hub to maximize intake airflow and an extended tip for better efficiency at high pressure ratios. The R-line design can produce higher boost pressures at high engine speeds and increase engine HP output by up to 15%. The R-line compressor wheels are available on our whole CT turbocharger line. CTR High Flow Turbine Technology: The CTR Turbine wheels have 25% lower inertia, leading to faster rotor acceleration. The slim hub and thin blade design make it unique and increase the flow capacity by 30% compared to the prior GT style Turbine wheel. The Comp Turbo CTR high flow turbine wheels have minimal leaving velocity, reducing losses and increasing turbine efficiency and flow range. They're designed for high exhaust flow and high turbine efficiency. Turbochargers are built to order and take 3 to 5 weeks to deliver.
Using Your Turbocharger: First, make sure the turbocharger is properly mounted in your engine. Since it can be mounted in any orientation, choose the best spot for your setup. Start your engine as normal, and the turbocharger will start working to boost your engine's power. It'll respond quickly thanks to its advanced design, giving you better performance. Note that it takes 3 to 5 weeks to get your custom - built turbocharger delivered. Maintenance: Check the Zerk fitting regularly for easy servicing. Since it's an oil - less turbocharger, you don't have to worry about oil or water lines, but still keep an eye on the overall condition of the turbocharger. If you notice any strange noises or a drop in performance, it might be time for a check - up. The turbocharger is fully rebuildable and upgradeable, so you can keep it in top shape over time. Be careful not to over - stress the engine, as this can put extra strain on the turbocharger. Also, make sure your engine is in good condition overall, as this will help the turbocharger work at its best.
