Part Number 12642 40 - M Stainless Replacement Element. This is a service element for Aeromotive Billet in - line filters. It fits all 2 - 1/2' OD x 7' long ORB - 12 filter housings and comes with a new housing o - ring to reseal the filter assembly. It's only suitable for the pressure side of a fuel pump and works with gasoline, diesel, ethanol, and methanol - based fuels. Recommended for all medium to large electric pumps, all mechanical pumps (belt or hex drive), and 6 - Series pumps up to 32 - GPM Spur Gear pumps. It's a direct replacement for Filter Part Numbers 12342 and 12343. Check the Filter Chart in the image gallery on the left and the Filter Dimensional Drawing if you need help identifying your filter and the right replacement element.
Using this Aeromotive replacement element is easy. First, make sure your fuel pump is turned off. Then, remove the old filter element from your 2 - 1/2' OD x 7' long ORB - 12 filter housing. Replace it with this new 40 - m stainless mesh element and use the included housing o - ring to reseal the filter assembly. Remember, this element can only be used on the pressure side of the fuel pump. It works well with gasoline, diesel, ethanol, and methanol - based fuels. For maintenance, check the element regularly, especially if you have a high - usage pump. If it looks dirty or clogged, it's time to replace it.
