Overview
When building high - power K24Z motors, such as those in the 9th Gen Civic Si and TSX, aiming for over 8000 rpms, the factory oiling system becomes inefficient and problematic because of the balance shafts used by the OEM oil pump. A common and cost - effective fix is to swap in the Acura RSX Type - S PRB oil pump. This eliminates the balance shafts and provides better oil supply.
This kit is essential when you're swapping to a PRB/Type - S oil pump. It blocks off the factory oil filter housing at the bottom of the K24Z block and moves the filter to the top of the block, just like other K - Series motors.
NOTE: You must swap the factory K24Z - style oil pump to a PRB - style oil pump when using this block - off plate. Failing to do so will lead to a complete loss of oil pressure.
Kit Includes:
- Oil Pump Block - Off Plate
- (2) OEM Honda O - Rings
- (3) Stainless Steel Socket Head Cap Screw Bolts
- OEM Honda Oil Filter Holder

Using this kit is easy. First, make sure you've swapped your factory K24Z - style oil pump to a PRB - style oil pump. This is super important because not doing it can cause you to lose all oil pressure. Once you've done the pump swap, use the oil pump block - off plate to cover the factory oil filter housing at the bottom of the K24Z block. Then, relocate the filter to the top of the block using the OEM Honda oil filter holder. Secure everything with the two OEM Honda O - rings and three stainless steel socket head cap screw bolts. As for maintenance, regularly check the O - rings for any signs of wear or damage. If you notice any issues, replace them right away. Also, keep an eye on your oil pressure gauge to ensure the system is working properly.
