Overview
PRL Motorsports 4-ply silicone couplers are a top - notch choice. These couplers feature 4 - ply silicone with polyester reinforcement and a 70 durometer rating. They have a nominal wall thickness of 0.200” (ranging from.170” to.220”).
- The recommended working temperatures are from -65°F (-53.9°C) to 350°F (+176.6°C), making them suitable for high - heat environments.
- They resist electrochemical degradation, ensuring long - lasting performance.
- Our standard silicone hoses aren't for pressurized oil or fuel. But we offer special Fluorocarbon and Fluorosilicone liners with great chemical resistance. Contact our engineering team for details.
- They meet or exceed various industry standards like SAE J20 R1, SAE J20 R1 H.T. Class A, TMC RP303B Grade I and Grade II, Mil Spec A - A - 52426, and other heavy - duty OEM specs.
- With excellent ozone and UV resistance, they can withstand harsh outdoor conditions.
- For high - temperature applications up to 500°F, aramid reinforcement is available. Check our website's “4 Ply Woven Aramid Reinforced” section or contact our engineers.
- Commonly used in air intake, supercharger, cold - side turbo, intercooler, radiator, and heater core connections, especially in high - temp or extreme conditions.
- Widely used in aerospace, performance motors, marine, commercial trucks, buses, agricultural and off - highway vehicles, turbo diesel engines, food and beverage, and general manufacturing worldwide.
Using the 4 - ply silicone straight coupler is easy. First, make sure the connection area is clean and free of debris. Then, simply slide the coupler onto the appropriate tubes or pipes. It's designed to fit snugly, but you can use a little bit of lubricant if needed.
Important things to note: This coupler isn't suitable for pressurized oil or fuel in its standard form. If you need chemical resistance, contact the engineering department. Also, be aware of the temperature limits. Don't use it in environments hotter than 350°F unless it has aramid reinforcement (up to 500°F with aramid).
For maintenance, regularly check for signs of wear, like cracks or tears. Keep it clean from dirt and chemicals. If you notice any issues, replace the coupler promptly to ensure optimal performance.
