Product Description

The ZX2 - HDG6 kit comes with ACT's top - selling Heavy Duty pressure plate. ACT's Heavy Duty pressure plates use a unique diaphragm design. This design boosts the clamp load, cuts down on deflection, and significantly extends the clutch life. All diaphragms go through a four - stage heat - treating process for outstanding performance. The ACT pressure plates have precisely stamped covers to ensure rigidity and consistency. ACT's 6 - pad, spring - centered race disc has a spring - center to effectively damp torsional vibrations and resist failure in tough conditions. The ACT spring retainers feature wraparound spring windows and thicker retainer stampings. This provides spring support, reduces stress concentrations, and enhances strength and reliability. With the 6 - pad, spring - centered race disc, you'll experience a harsher engagement but much faster shifting. The 6 - pad, spring - centered disc is ideal for larger clutch sizes as it can absorb more heat. This part fits multiple Mazda RX - 7 models from 1983 to 1991, including Base, Convertible, GS, GSL, and many others.

Using this clutch kit is straightforward. First, make sure your vehicle is parked on a flat surface and the engine is turned off. Remove the old clutch components carefully and install the new ACT clutch kit according to the included instructions. When driving with this kit, be aware that the engagement is harsher than a regular clutch, so you may need to adjust your driving style a bit for smoother starts. As for maintenance, check the clutch regularly for signs of wear. If you notice any unusual noises or a decrease in performance, it might be time for an inspection. Keep the clutch clean and avoid harsh driving conditions as much as possible to extend its lifespan. If you're unsure about anything, it's always a good idea to consult a professional mechanic.
