Product Description

The K - Tuned High - Mount Billet Shifter Base Plate is a game - changer for RSX Type - S or similar shifter boxes. It allows you to install the shifter without cutting a hole in the chassis exhaust tunnel. Many racers, especially those on road courses, love this setup. It mounts the shifter higher in the vehicle, bringing it closer to the driver and the steering wheel. Plus, it leaves plenty of space under the car for large exhaust systems. The base plate is designed to route shifter cables inside the car, usually exiting through the heater hose hole in the firewall (assuming the heater core is removed in most race cars). Note that this shifter setup won't clear interior panels or center consoles on any chassis. We want to credit R - Crew as the original designer of this part. Sadly, they're out of business, and at the request of customers and vendors, we've made our own version of this great base plate.

Using this K - Tuned shifter base plate is simple. First, install it without cutting a hole in the exhaust tunnel of your chassis. Route the shifter cables inside the car and have them exit through the heater hose hole in the firewall. Remember, most race cars have the heater core removed. When you're setting up the shifter, be aware that it won't clear any interior panels or center consoles. As for maintenance, regularly check the cables for any signs of wear and tear. Keep the base plate clean to ensure smooth operation. If you notice any issues with the shifting, have it inspected by a professional.
