Eagle ESP Connecting Rods are made from a two - piece forging. This forging process shapes the grain to match the connecting rod, giving it a long fatigue life. The separately forged rod cap has its grain running perpendicular to the load forces, making the rod stronger. While many aftermarket rods are made from 4340 steel, Eagle 'ESP' 3 - D connecting rods go a step further. They have a higher content of nickel and chrome, boosting strength and fatigue life without making the rod brittle, though it's a costlier process.

Extensive tests show that Eagle's two - piece forging is better than any one - piece forging on the market. All Eagle 'ESP' Rods are clearly marked. Proper rod bolt torque is crucial for the rod's lifespan. The big end bore of the rod is stressed, just like cylinders in an engine block. Torque it correctly to ensure strength and the right sizing of the rod's big end. Incorrect torque can lead to early rod failure. Be wary of rods without torque specifications.

Eagle 'ESP' H Beam Connecting Rods Features:

  • First to use the state - of - the - art Sunnen Krossgrinding™ System for tight tolerances: center - to - center length +/- .001, big end barrel / bellmouthing +/- .0002, big end bore +/- .0002, pin end bore +/- .0002.
  • Stroker design offers cam clearance for 3.800 on small block Chevy engines and 4.250 on big block Chevy engines without modifications.
  • Save 30 - 70 grams in weight (varies by rod length).
  • Cut balancing costs! Larger stroke applications can save $100 - $200 on balancing alone.
  • Over 80 rod options for popular Chevrolet, Chrysler, Ford, Oldsmobile, Pontiac, AMC, Nissan, Acura, Honda, and Toyota engines.
  • Available individually or in sets. Specify weights for individual rod purchases.
  • 3 - D Design reduces weight while maintaining strength, offering an excellent strength - to - weight ratio.
  • Two - piece forging for enhanced strength.
  • Ready to run, comes with installation instructions and bolt lubricant.
  • ARP 2000 bolts (230,000 psi).
  • Silicon bronze bushings for floating piston pins.

Eagle Connecting Rods Purchase Includes:

  • 1 Set of 4 Connecting Rods
  • ARP Rod Bolts
  • Assembly Hardware and Specifications

Using your Eagle ESP H Beam Connecting Rods is straightforward. First, make sure to read the installation instructions that come with the rods carefully. Use the provided bolt lubricant when installing the ARP 2000 bolts, and always follow the torque specifications. Incorrect torque can cause the rod to fail prematurely, so take your time with this step. These rods are ready to run right out of the box, but you may need to specify weights if you're buying individual rods. When it comes to maintenance, since the rods are made of certified 4340 steel and have been multi - stage heat treated, they're pretty durable. However, it's a good idea to periodically check the alignment of the rod cap and the torque of the bolts. If you notice any unusual noises or performance issues, it might be a sign to inspect the rods more closely. Keep in mind that these rods are sized and finished in the US after being forged in China, so they meet high - quality standards. Also, they're available for a wide range of popular engines, so whether you have a Chevy, Ford, or another brand, these rods could be a great fit.
