The electric water plate kit was first developed by ETD Racing, now known as K-Tuned. Since its launch, we've made significant advancements and improvements to the design. In recent years, the market has seen many imitations. While others simply copy our design, we're constantly striving for improvement. Recently, we introduced our K - Series Water Plate Kit using the K - Series Alternator. Now, we're thrilled to present our redesigned Water Plate Kit for B - Series Alternators. The new water plate kit features two o - ring seals. You no longer need Honda Bond to seal the water plate, making it easier to switch between engine blocks. The alternator brackets have been redesigned for greater strength and more adjustment options. The top bracket enables the alternator to pivot properly for belt pressure adjustment. The water inlet uses a - 16AN port with a custom fitting that offers eight different positions. For years, racers have used electric water pumps to reduce the power - robbing parasitic drag of engines. By reducing the number of accessories the crank has to turn, you can achieve impressive power gains. The K - Tuned Water Pump Block Off Plate system is designed for K - series engines to run an electric water pump cooling system. It replaces bulky and heavy OEM accessories with a simple, lightweight aluminum plate. The kit ensures perfect coolant flow and effectively releases unwanted crankcase pressure. The water port is sealed with an o - ring like the factory, and the breather port is threaded for an 8AN fitting, easily routed to any catch - can setup. Applications: All K20A/Z & K24A engines. Note: This product is for Drag Racing Only. Due to variations in crank pulley sizes and B/D series alternator casings, refer to our belt fitment guide HERE. Features: Replaces the large OEM water passage with a lightweight block - off plate. Deletes OEM water pump, auto tensioner, P/S, A/C, and EP3 pulley. Alternator mounting bracket available in most kits. Belt and fittings available in some kits. Electric water pump and pump fittings available in the complete kit. Designed for use with lighter D/B series alternators. CNC machined from 6061 aluminum. Large coolant port is tapped for - 16AN thread. Notes: The kit includes a 7PK828 belt that fits a K24/EP3 pulley (6.125'). Larger diameter pulleys like the K24Z1 (6.5') need a longer belt (not available from us). Smaller pulleys (Type S/Type R/Street ATI Damper (5.67' SKU - 918477) likely need a smaller belt (available as an add - on). Excludes K24Z, K24Y, and K20C series engines with D/B Series alternators. We recommend a 99 CRV Alternator as it's direct plug - and - play, and the automatic version has more amperage. Does not fit D17 alternator. If using our water pump bracket, you'll need 2 x 12an 120 - degree fittings. The water pump provides a 20 - gallon flow rate per minute.
Using the K - Tuned B - Series Alternator Water Plate Kit with Electric Water Pump is straightforward. First, make sure you're working on an applicable engine, such as K20A/Z or K24A engines. This product is only for drag racing, so don't use it on regular road vehicles. When installing, you don't need to use Honda Bond to seal the water plate thanks to the two o - ring seals. The alternator brackets are adjustable, so take your time to set the belt pressure correctly using the top bracket. The water inlet has a custom - fitting - 16AN port with eight different positions, so choose the one that suits your setup best. For the belt, the kit comes with a 7PK828 that fits a K24/EP3 pulley. If you have a different pulley size, refer to the notes. You may need a different belt length, but some smaller belt options are available as add - ons. We recommend using a 99 CRV Alternator as it's plug - and - play. When using the water pump bracket, get 2 x 12an 120 - degree fittings. Maintenance is simple. Regularly check the o - ring seals for any signs of wear or leaks. Inspect the alternator brackets and belt tension periodically. The water pump has a 20 - gallon flow rate per minute, so ensure the coolant system is properly filled to keep the engine cool.
