These shifter cables are a dream for Civic Type - R drivers who want the best shifting performance. Through years of track testing in our FK8 race car, we've fine - tuned these cables to perfection.
Hybrid Racing shifter cables are an upgrade over stock OEM cables. The solid rod ends, lubricated core, spherical bearings, and aluminum end links make the shift feel firmer and tighter than OEM cables. This means fewer missed shifts and a better connection to the chassis. They can resist heat up to 225°F and have a max bend radius of 5' for a long lifespan.
We made these cables to give you peace of mind and better driving performance, especially during hard shifts and intense racing. The spherical bearings, stainless steel push rods, and upgraded swivel support tubes (OEM ones are plastic and prone to breakage) are just some of the great features. All rod ends and mounting bushings are CNC - machined 6061 aluminum, black anodized, and laser - etched with our logo.
Are these cables a direct replacement for my OEM shifter cables?
Yes! The aluminum bushings make installation easier and get rid of a plastic part that can cause a sloppy shift on OEM cables.
Since these cables are designed for motorsports, there will be a bit more NVH. You may notice more transmission noise and vibration in the cabin, but it's minimal in the FK8 due to its interior panels and console.
What is included with these shifter cables?
The kit has two shifter cables, two cotter pins, and clips for the shifter end. We also provide new hardware for the shifter cable mounting plates on the transmission bracket. You'll reuse your OEM center bracket and cable seal.
