All rod ends and mounting bushings are CNC - machined 6061 aluminum, black anodized, and laser - etched with the Hybrid Racing logo.
Are these cables a direct replacement for my OEM Civic Type R FD2 Shifter Cables?
Yes! We include a new rubber grommet, so you don't have to reuse the old one. The OEM cable for right/left shifter motion has been upgraded from a plastic twist - lock bushing to aluminum bushings and a spring clip. This not only simplifies installation but also eliminates a plastic part that can cause a sloppy shift on OEM cables. The extra spring clip is included with the cables, so no need to buy additional parts.
What is included with these shifter cables?
The kit comes with two shifter cables, each set including two cotter pins, clips for the shifter end, and transmission selector lever springs. There's also a new rubber grommet for the firewall hole. All shifter cables come with upgraded transmission gear selector springs (recommended for a better driving experience). And we include a pair of thermal protective sleeves to protect the cables from the exhaust.
These shifter cables are made specifically for the Japanese Spec FD2 Civic Type R! The FD2 Civic Type R's K20A transmission uses a unique shifter cable bracket and thus requires a special set of shifter cables. These cables are NOT compatible with the USDM spec K20Z3 or Euro Spec K20Z4 transmission.
