  • Our heavy - duty transmission detent springs boost preload and have a stiffer spring rate compared to factory parts, which helps the transmission gear selector. Replacing the soft OEM springs with these will make your gear shifts sharper. We've tested these springs in our Civic Type R for a year, both on the street and race track. When installed in the Civic Type R, you'll get a more responsive shifter with faster centering and more distinct gear engagements. In the Civic Sport and Civic Si, the difference is even more noticeable. The spring's left/right movement force increases by over 100%, and the front/back movements are over 25% stiffer, providing a crisp gear engagement.

    Remember to torque the Honda K - Series transmission detent bolts to 16 lbf - ft (22 N - m / 2.2 kgf - m).

Using these Hybrid Racing transmission detent springs is easy. First, make sure your car is parked safely and the engine is off. Refer to the install guides for your specific model (Type - R or Sport/Si) to remove the old springs and install the new ones. When installing, remember to torque the Honda K - Series transmission detent bolts to 16 lbf - ft (22 N - m / 2.2 kgf - m). For maintenance, since the springs are Black Zinc Chromate plated, they're quite durable. But it's a good idea to check them periodically for any signs of wear or damage. If you notice any issues with gear engagement after installation, double - check the installation to make sure everything is in place correctly.
