Our heavy - duty transmission detent springs boost preload and have a stiffer spring rate compared to factory parts, which helps the transmission gear selector. Replacing the soft OEM springs with these will make your gear shifts sharper. We've tested these springs in our Civic Type R for a year, both on the street and race track. When installed in the Civic Type R, you'll get a more responsive shifter with faster centering and more distinct gear engagements. In the Civic Sport and Civic Si, the difference is even more noticeable. The spring's left/right movement force increases by over 100%, and the front/back movements are over 25% stiffer, providing a crisp gear engagement.
