The Honda S2000 has a great factory shifter and transmission. But as the cars are at least 15 years old, they could use an upgrade. The S2000 F - Series transmission has seven detent springs for smooth gear changes. These factory springs have a service limit and need replacement when worn. This kit includes all seven detent springs (x1 Front/Back, x1 Left/Right, x2 1/2 Gear, x1 3/4 Gear, x1 5/6 Gear & x1 Reverse Gear). Our heavy - duty springs increase preload and are 80% stiffer than factory parts, helping the gear selector fork. Upgrading makes gear engagements sharper by replacing soft or worn - out OEM parts. In the S2000, gear changes can be adjusted independently in every direction, so you can choose which springs to change. You'll notice an immediate improvement after installation. Replace worn springs and refresh your gear changes! These springs are designed and tested for the Honda S2000. Remember to torque the transmission detent bolts to 16 lbf - ft (22 N - m / 2.2 kgf - m).

These heavy - duty detent springs are made for your 2000 - 2009 Honda S2000. To use them, first, find the old detent springs in your transmission. Then, carefully remove the old ones and replace them with the new heavy - duty springs from the kit. When you're installing, make sure to torque the transmission detent bolts to 16 lbf - ft (22 N - m / 2.2 kgf - m). This will ensure everything is properly secured. As for maintenance, these springs are zinc chromate plated, which means they're quite durable. But it's still a good idea to check them regularly, especially if you do a lot of racing or high - performance driving. If you notice any signs of wear or if the gear changes start to feel off again, it might be time to check the springs and see if they need replacement. Also, you can choose to change certain springs according to your preference for a better gear - changing feeling.
